Not Worth The Trouble Sep 20, 2010

I was shopping for a budget priced player I could use strictly for music, but one I could expand with a Micro SD Card, as I use it at my work for 7-8 hours a day. I was impressed by the features and the large display on the Trio, so I decided to order it.
When I first bought it (less then 2.5 months ago) it worked fine- battery life, music file capability on the SD Card, etc (though I DID notice I wasn't able to access the menu screen to raise & lower the screen brightness no matter what I did).
A short time later I noticed the battery life was lasting less & less time- down to about 1/2 it was when I first bought it (even after charging it for hours). I contacted the Mach Speed company who makes the player by email- twice, in fact (once through their own website, and another sent from me), but after about 2 weeks I never received a reply. It seems they either take their time to reply, or don't.
For the money (and, let's face it- inexpensive or not, today not many people have the money to re-buy many things), you might want to weigh if you want to take a chance on the player working or not over time.
The One Star review is for the features of the player. Other than that, a player isn't much good if the battery is going to start dying a short time after you buy it!
