we're lovin' it! May 10, 2010
I bought this CD player for my two daughters (ages 7 and 5) who love to dance and sing along to music. It is simple enough for each of them to operate without needing my help. The sound is very good for the price. I think others who wrote reviews mentioned the sound wasn't great.....well, your not paying for a BOSE. I think the sound is wonderful. I like that it is light enough to carry around with ease if we want to move it to another room. The whole family enjoys it, and we actually just took it out to our patio yesterday to enjoy music while having a cookout....it sounded great.

I just needed something (for the bathroom, actually) that would play CDs, CD-Rs and allow an audio input for mp3 players -- this does all of that. I like the design and the color, though it does look like a toy. The speakers aren't very good at all, just adequate. My biggest complaints: there is no way to adjust tone and there is no headphone jack. Like I said, it's okay but I wouldn't buy it again.

I was really excited to find this and thought it would be great for my little girl. But I am SO glad that I opened it to check it out before giving it to her. The player would load the cd and display the number of tracks but it would not play. The back button wouldn't work either. The sound quality seemed fine with the radio. Four adults including an engineer couldn't get the silly thing to play a cd. Needless to say, we returned it. For the last cherry on top when I went to return it I found that Amazon had reduced the price by $8. Highly disappointing.

I bought this item just for one reazon: the digital am-fm tuner.
When i got the radio at gome i discovered that what i purchased wasn't exactly what Amazon sells.
There is a misunderstanding from the seller, because this radio has no digital am-fm tuner, it has a regular and old analog tuner

Fine while it lasted -- 90 day warrantee only Sep 24, 2010 By strategery
We had been looking for a CD player with audio input for my daughters room for a while. We picked this unit and it did the job for a while, but after about 3 months it started to get flakey (would need lots of jiggling to play thru the audio in). Today we tried to play a CD and found that while it would spin no sound for the CD, radio, or audio jack. This unit has been treated very well and despite that it was essentially dead. Went to the Sony support website and found it was out of warrantee even though it was only purchased 6 months ago, and sony would send me a refurb unit for only 35 dollars (which is about what I paid thru amazon for a new one). Guess I'm back to looking for a CD player.
(The noname $29 boombox from office depot, which went to her younger brother and is now 7 years old is still going strong). Dont buy it just because it is a Sony because you wont get Sony quality
