| | Description | This beauty comes with a crystal clear 2.8 inch LCD Touch Screen and All stainless steel casing. It is sleek and beautiful with less than half inches in thickness. Durable and light weight. You can play AVI, RM, RMVB, most Mpeg4, WMV, Xvid and FLV stream (YouTube) files directly on this device without the need for conversion. Most MP4 or MP5 players out there do not play MPEG4, WMV or Xvid files. This is a huge improvement over the older models. Please note: license protected files (like iTune video or movies purchased from some websites) will NOT play. Some video files with high resolution might need to be compressed to 320 * 240 to play. It automatically organizes your MP3 files into different artists, styles, genre and album based on ID 3 tag information. You can even add songs into My Favorite to create your own play list right on the device. The video quality is crispy clear. It can play videos in full screen mode. with the 2.8 inch high resolution screen, watching movie and video clip on the go becomes so much more fun. Photos can be rotated 360 degrees. you can either flip through the photos right on the screen or turn on the photo slide show. The text reader, radio and recording functions just added many other value added features to this device. All in all, this is a very affordable high quality multi media player out there with decent touch screen and user friendly interface. Package includes PE Stainless Steel Touch Screen Player, Earphone, Wall Charger, Built in Stylus, USB cable, Pouch, and User Manual. IMPORTANT TIP: You can go into Settings: System Settings and set the screen to lock after certain amount of time. Once the screen is not used for the set amount of time, it will lock up to prevent accidental touch. There will be a lock sign at the top of the screen. TO UNLOCK the screen, simply push the "Power Button" once quickly. IF IT GOES INTO THE CALIBRATION MODE, please use the stylus to touch the Red Dot to calibrate it. | |

Nice MP3 player for the buck Oct 06, 2010

Well I bought this mp3 player not expecting anything impressive... I've owned several MP3 players and this one goes above and beyond any ones expectations for the money spent.. It's played my mp4 movies flawlessly and you don't need a converter, create a movies folder drag and drop the movie you want into the player.. The mp3 player has many options for music sound adjustments.. The ear-phones aren't high end but they are nice looking and ok sounding I bought some extra's and the sound quality is much nicer "low range".. I've utilized every utility on this device including the e-book option.. The text is very easy too read.. only draw back is that it only reads unicode or reg text files, which is just fine.. You can book mark your pages and it has font options large medium and small as well as white red or green for text color. Umm the game is well lacking.. they could really improve on that aspect or create others for download... Photo option is excellent.. radio isn't too bad like other reviews a little weak but the local stations come in strong.. Recorder speaks for itself it's nice too keep memo's record class lectures and this device does that with ease.. I bought an 8g mini sd card and it has absolutely no problems accessing and reading the information.. The battery life on a full charge will last about 6 hrs none stop use.. All and All I'd give this player a 9.56 out of 10 and for the money spent your getting a 10+ device.. Thats one place I'm rather impressed is how much I've spent for such an impressive device..

nice device Jul 20, 2010

This is the second purchase of this player. The first one I have had for well over a year and it has not let me down yet. This one is an exact copy of my first player but from a new retailer. I was looking for the same player through ProEbiz, who have been great to do business with. The player is a great buy for the money and very reliable. The sound is not the best when using the built in speaker, but I don't think ther is a great speaker this small anyway. I use the player to listen to audio books and some music. It has performed well and the battery life is great, well over fifteen hours of steady use. I have had nothing but trouble with touch screans in the past and this one does not use touch screan navigation. If you think that is your cup of tea, get a different model. if not this is a nice buy.

By JSebastian i got this MP3 for my birth day and it was awesome it dose most every thing a i pod can do for a fraction of the price. the video is good quality, the photos are good quality and can be rotated, the radio is a bit week(but i don't use it allot), the game is fun, and the best of all the music great quality it sorts it for you and you can make play lists on the device. in my opinion the i pod has ben passed up by Pyrus Electronics.

It's very good but missing in some areas Sep 08, 2010
By M. Fink This is a very good MP3 player, but there are drawbacks. The instructions are for the most part useless, they just barely get you by. But you will figure everything out eventually. There are buttons to press on the touch screen but they are somewhat small and difficult to activate if you have fat fingers. The supplied stylus in the top frame of the unit works well. Most menus have a lot of information, and a stylus is a must. The stylus stores safely and snugly in its hole.
My main complaint is trying to FF through an mp3 file. If all you listen to is music this will not be a problem for you, but if you listen to hour long podcasts, it is a nuisance. You are able to ff by using the stylus and just touching on the progress bar to get you instantly into the area of the mp3 you want, but most times for some reason it resets the whole unit (maybe this is just on my unit). You can ff about 10 minutes into it without a problem, but on my unit it would shutdown after that. I can use the ff button, but then it goes slowly to the area I want to listen to.
Another thing I do not like about this player is that it shows all of the photos vertically, using only 1/2 of the screen. I tried to load up photos that were rotated 90 degrees, and it continued to show them in the vertical mode. You can, thru a menu option, rotate the photo, but when you come back to it again, it is vertical. I would prefer to view all of the photos horizontally. No can do. The videos play horizontally as they should and the quality is great. A supplied avi converter program worked just fine for me.
The battery life is great, I got about 5 hours out of it listening to podcasts. It automatically goes into lock mode and turns off the screen after a prescribed amount of time to conserve power. One to two presses of the bottom button reactivates the screen and unlocks it.
The radio played well for me and I received many local stations, no AM. It took me a while but I finally learned to charge and use the unit at the same time. When you plug in the USB cable it defaults to charge plus download mode, if you use the supplied wall charger it just charges the battery. You can still wake it up while charging and use it normally as an mp3 player.
It is a $45 MP3 player, not an iPod, and overall, I like it. Sorry, not 5 stars.
I purchased with free shipping on Amazon and it took 8 days to arrive from a seller who is only about 500 miles away. FYI.

An excellent value: Pyrus 2080 4GB Media Player Mar 07, 2011
By Lance Goffinet I ordered this Media player to replace my accursed, hated, and despised Zune 8GB--the software sucks beyond the telling of it. In fact, I sold my Zune for just enough to pay for this Media player or about half what I could have probably sold it for in order to rid myself of it as quickly as possible. This player is massively easier to use than the Zune. Setup for each of this players features is simple, logical, and intuitive--unlike the Zune. You can just drag and drop your music, e-books, pictures, and videos. You can sync using windows media player. One dig is you cannot create play lists. You can only select songs as a favorite for common playback later.
I have only had to convert a few videos for playback with the supplied software--very easy to do. For full disclosure of bias, I really do not like touch screens. The buttons on my old Zune are the one feature I like better so I can operate it with one hand just using my thumb. With that said, the touch screen on this Media Player works better than my Tilt2 phone. However, if you have fat fingers like mine it is much easier to use with the included stylus.
It works great as a Photo Viewer.
E-books are surprisingly readable on this little screen--text and unicode only.
Movie playback quality is pretty good as well--a little better on my Zune. Sound quality through in internal speaker is adequate but not great and does not have much volume. Sound quality using upgraded ear buds is pretty good and pretty close to my Zune. I did not even try the ear buds included because that style does not fit my ears well. I plugged my Logitech Z-2300 speakers into the earphone jack and the music sounded great.
The FM radio works much better than I expected. In fact, I rather like it. I did not even care about it as a feature when I made the purchase, but when I tuned into my local classical station I changed my mind.
The one included game is lame. It is a picture of a snake that is broke up into squares that you have to move around in order to reassemble in the correct order. On older version had a Space Invaders like game.
The player came nicely boxed with a nice cloth carrying bag, software mini-CD, ear buds, an adequate manual in poor English, a USB cable for charging and data transfer with your computer, and a wall charger adapter that you can plug your player into using the USB cable.
The player charges fairly quickly using the wall charger but much slower plugged in USB into the computer. So far I have used it up to 4 hours without the battery going dead. I have determined its max time yet.
The player size is a very nice palm sized and portable: H 3 9/16" X W 2 1/8" X T 7/16". It is almost all screen. On the bottom edge there is the USB port, on/off switch, and power button. On the bottom right side is the head phone jack. On the upper left corner is a spot for a carabiner strap. It has an attractive quality appearance but not as nicely finished as the Zune.
I successfully installed an 8 GB micro memory card. Any music on the card are not accessed by the player "media library" or sync software. You must browse to it manually.
For $44.99 this is an outstanding value and exceeded my expectations. I am finally very happy with a media player. I gave it 4 stars overall as a media player. For the money it is 5 stars.
Two issues that you should be aware of if you want to avoid unnecessary grief that are not the media players fault:
First, at first I thought that the touch screen was sluggish and lacked sensitivity. I thought that I had to tap very hard and repeatedly to get the touch screen to work. I was wrong. It actually has a very nice action. What I did not realize at first was that you have to first lightly tap what you want to select in order to select it and then lightly tap it again to activate it--easy as pie. The touch screen is very easy to use.
Second,I thought that the media player had quit working after loading my music. It would get about half way through the "media library update" and the player would reboot. I tried reloading the songs, running check disk, etc... I then started to remove groups of songs until the player worked. What the problem was was I had one group of songs that the player did not like. They worked in my computer just fine just not in the player. Once I removed these songs the player worked perfectly. It turned out to be the whole group of songs in this case. Although, it could have easily been just one song. I actually put the group back and then removed each song one by one from the group, but the player did not work until they were all gone. So, if you experience this issue, do not condemn the player before you try this troubleshooting.
***Update*** There are a couple of issues that have come up after spending a little time with it. First: the screen is impossible to read in sunlight. Second: when playing a sound of video file if you attempt to move the slider forward or back the player locks up requiring a reboot. This does not change my rating although it is a little disappointing.
