Very inexpensive but does the job Apr 16, 2010
By Nero's Fiddle 9" screens are big enough for comfortable viewing and the picture quality is good and goes up bright enough for daylight use. Setup is pretty easy. I suggest buying some wireloom or small tie wraps to secure up the cables and route them AWAY from kids feet. The power cables are very light-duty and will likely break at the monitor connector if kicked in the wrong way. The system is simple to use for basic functionality. It plays many different disc formats including DVD+/-R. And it plays them well (no sputters even on kid-used discs). Disc loading is a bit clumsy (a side load slot would have been better) and useful buttons such as the DVD Menu one, are on the top of the unit when installed. It makes it impossible for a kid to find without knowing where it is beforehand. Easy to remove and store (good for hiding the monitors on short notice). Lastly, you may want to buy a longer video/audio cable between the two monitors. Mine was barely long enough to route the wire safely away from the feet.

I made my husband get this on Black Friday since it was on Sale for just $99. We have been using it ever since our son was 8 months old to keep him entertained on our daily trips so he doesn't scream or cry. He LOVES to watch his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and it is a blessing this DVD player reaches the rear facing headrest. THANKFULLY Mickey Clubhouse is on DVD! (Also lucky I have 1 extra car adapter in the rear of my SUV which helps; seeing that many complain the cords barely reach the front seat adapters)
I wish it had a remote control so I can start his dvd over when it ends so we don't have to pull over and press play for him. Now that we own this, I would of gladly paid full price. He neverrr goes bored (he is now 11 months old)... We just ran the cords under the front of carseat and through the sides of seat so he won't grab or kick it. This will be in our family for many years to come, especially since my husband is Active Duty Army last 8 yrs and we travel a lot. Great product!!! Owned it since November 2011 and still works just fine for us!
very satisfied. Feb 03, 2012

After reading dozens of reviews about portable DVD players, we settled on this one. We bought it for a long road trip we were taking with our two small children, who normally scream and fight in the car.
We have been happy with it so far. Picture quality is great, installation is simple. We have only used it a few times so I cannot attest to its long-term durability.
There are two things I am not crazy about, and here they are:
1. The cord that plugs into the car is just barely long enough to extend to the seat for a rear-facing child. It would be nice if the cord were a bit longer so we didn't keep bumping into the cord and accidentally pulling it out.
2. It would be nice to have a remote control. If you have to perform any functions with the DVD player, you have to unbuckle your seatbealt, bend over the seat and practically hang upside down over the seat for 5 minutes while you try to figure out which button is which. I recommend having everything all set up and playing before you hit the road!
Each of our two children had her own set of headphones (not included in the package) We also bought a soft protective case for it, which has been really great to have.
This product made for an absolutely lovely and quiet (but long) road trip.
