4Tested on iPhone, iTouch and Balckberry Curve  May 10, 2010 By PT Cruiser "PT Cruiser"
For the past few years I had been using a Bluetooth headset but have yet to find one that is both comfortable and that stays in my ear. The other problem with the Bluetooth was remembering to keep it charged all the time and having to re-pair it with my phone when it would "forget" and would occasionally cut out. This Phillips SHH8006/28 headset solves those problems and has some nice features of its own.

I first tested this headset with an iPhone that I borrowed from a friend. The inline remote controls worked flawlessly to initiate calls and answer calls and the mic picked up my voice well according to people on the other end. A couple people said I sounded a little "hollow" but that could have been the connection. Most said I sounded perfectly clear. For such a small mic I think it worked very well. I liked the fact that I didn't have to reach for the iPhone every time I wanted to do something. It works kind of like a Bluetooth, but with wires. When listening to music I could use the inline remote to skip tracks and adjust the volume. There are 3 different sizes of covers for the earbuds so you can choose the one that fits your ear best.

Next I tried it with my iTouch. The sound was better than with the earbuds supplied by Apple, and as good as any I've tried in this price range. The notes were crisp and clear and the bass was decent. If you're looking for something with good noise canceling ability, these won't block out all outside noise. But since I wanted them for walking and for use with the phone, I don't really want all background noise blocked out so they're perfect for me. I've always shied away from over the ear holders for earbuds but the flexible rubber ear hooks on this Phillips SHH8006/28 headset are amazingly comfortable. I usually forget that I'm wearing them even after having them on for a few hours, they're that soft. They stay in my ears whether working out, cleaning the house or just riding in the car.

I was hoping when I ordered these that they would work with my Blackberry Curve 8330 Smartphone since they have the same size plug. They do! I can use the in line remote to initiate calls (voice dialing) and to answer and hang up the phone and to raise or lower the volume. The mic works fine, just like with the iPhone. I had a friend call me on my home phone using my Blackberry and the inline mic and the sound was very good. I don't store music on my Blackberry but I did try recording my voice and listening back and the sound was crisp and clear.

I use this headset all the time on my Blackberry and really like the comfort and the ease of use. It fits my needs perfectly both for the phone and the iTouch. The only reason I'm giving the product 4 stars instead of 5 is the noise canceling feature that isn't really that great and it could be an important feature for someone else.

5best alternative!  Feb 19, 2010 By D. Zavik "Boonetang"
After owning the iPhone for about 6 months or so, i decided it was time to get rid of the annoying headphones and get some that would:
-stay in my ear better
-have better audio
-maintain the same functionality that the included headphones had

When i first looked for headphones all i saw where earbuds and having kind of big ears i am not a fan of earbuds as they easily fall out, especially when i ride my bike.

Then i found these headphones. The hook around the ear ensured that they would be able to stay in my ears and not get jostled out or fall out when i got sweaty.

I have had them for a few weeks now and love them! It is winter so i haven't biked with them yet, but i can already tell that they will be fine. They fit very comfortably in my ears, even isolate outside noise a little bit from the tight fit.

The buttons work great (although hard to feel which button is which for certain).

I would recommend these to anyone who was tired of the headphones that came with the iPhone (as i have already told me Dad to get them).

3Depends on what you want them for...  May 16, 2010 By amf0001
I had a specific usage for these in mind when I selected them, I wanted something that would stay in my ear when I go for brisk exercise walks, and while these can be a bit fiddly to put on, once on they stay there, and sweaty ears or windy walks make no difference. So they win full points for that. The sound is fine to my not very sophisticated ear. But they are not exceptionally comfortable and I wouldn't wear them just around the house, and if you hook the wire unexpectedly (as seems to happen to me more than it should) they give you a strong tug on the ear as they fall out. My husband who has much better appreciation of sound than I do, found them average in sound quality. I tried my son's ear phones in comparison, and actually found my son's far more comfortable, but not as secure when exercising. So I guess it depends on what you want them for. If you want security/sturdiness, they're it. If comfort is really important to you, they're not it, and if sound quality is paramount, they aren't it either. So I'm happy to use them for exercise but don't love them for anything else.

5Excellent headset for iPhone & iPod Touch..  Apr 23, 2010 By H. Dinh "shooter"
This headset leaves Apple headphones in the dust. It sounds awesome and very good looking too. I finally have a headset that stayed on my ears while working out. Even though the earplugs slipped out of my ear canals a couple of times when I sweat too much, I can still hear what was coming through the headset. There are two more pairs of earplug with different sizes, so you can select one that work for you. The control works well with both of my iPhone and iPod Touch, just take a little bit of time to get used to it. Sounds coming through the headset when I received call was crisp and clear without any static. The person on the other end told me that it sounds much clearer than when I was on the Apple headset. I am no audiophile, so I can only tell you that this headset sounds outstanding. Buy it, you won't regret it.

5For the price is perfect.  Jul 13, 2011 By Amy
I bought this headset because the ones that come with my iPhone die on me. I'm a runner and I travel a lot for my work so I need some good earphones.

Pros:
1. The sound is very good. I was surprise how good it is. Is better than the earphones that comes with the iPhone. Some people here says that is the same but is not. They sound much better. Of course is not great. If you want great sound buy the super expensive Dr. Dre headphones or Lady Gaga headphones from Monster.
2. They fit in my ears perfectly and they don't HURT!! They come with earpieces of different sizes so you can try and find the perfect size for you.
3. They don't fall out of my ear when I'm running. They stay in my ears for long runs. That's a plus.
4. For calls works great. I try calling different people while driving, running or just sitting in a desk and the person in the other side heard me fine. This was a relief for me because with the old ones that came with the iPhone sometimes people said that they didn't hear me well.
5. With this headset you can put on hold a call, manage the volume etc...

Cons:
1. When listening to music the bass doesn't sound strong enough for my taste but is fine for the price like I said before.
2. No other for the moment.
