Motorola Stereo Gateway works great with my hearing aids Oct 16, 2009
By Old Bear I recently upgraded my hearing aids to a pair of Phonak aids and I purchased the phonak iCom. I did this so I could make a blue tooth pairing with my cell phone. With the Motorola Dc800 Bluetooth Stereo Gateway I am also able to hear my stereo, my TV, etc. in stereo through my hearing aids. I do not have to turn the volume up a drive the rest the family out of the room. Late at night if I want I can watch listen to music without anyone else hearing it. And I have stereo pumped through my hearing aids as I walk around the house. This is freedom for hearing aid patients like me.

Excellent Blue Tooth TV sound adapter Mar 04, 2010
By T. Medley Bought this adapter to use with Oticon hearing aid blue tooth "streamer" to listen to TV or stereo sound through the hearing aids. Hearing aid people sold their brand of TV adapter for $175, but it had major problems with interference. The Motorola device costs a lot less and works like a charm. No interference. Very powerful transmitter works throughout the house at distances further than normal bluetooth. Easy to set up and use. A really good buy.

Awesome for TV, not in sync for TV Apr 06, 2010
By M. V. Damiano I bought the DC800 gateway 2 years ago and have paired it with many different devices. Headsets, receivers, dongles, phones. No complaints on the range or the quality of sound. I stream Pandora from my computer to my stereo all the time. There is a slight delay with the transmitted music, so there is an echo effect if the computer speakers are playing the music too. The computer is on the opposite side of my house so it really doesn't matter for me. Watching TV is out of the question, as the picture and the sound do not sync. I would say there is a .25 sec delay. So not real bad, just annoying.

Awesome! Oct 15, 2009

I've had the DC800 for about 2 years. I've used it to stream mp3 music from my Motorola Q-Phone running Windows Mobile, my iPhone, and my MacBook Pro all to the DC800 which is plugged into my stereo receiver. It works fabulously. I'm able to roam quite a bit from the DC800 without losing signal. It's great to have your music in your pocket (on the couch, or cooking in the kitchen) and be able to control the music.

Latency is too high Dec 31, 2010
By P. Griffin For the right applications, this unit works very well. Streaming audio seams to be an ideal use. The range is quite good and much wider than the bluetooth range from my laptop.
However, for use with a home A/V system, movies that are sound synced with video exhibit a delay in the audio that is enough to be annoying.
I actually bought the DC800 to see if I could use it as a wireless audio system for playing live music with a band, but find the latency of a bluetooth system to be too great and it puts me out of sync with the other musicians, so unfortunately this won't work for practice or on stage. The delay is between .25 and .4 seconds.
