Seemed like a good idea at the time ... Oct 09, 2007

I bought this case two days after I bought my iPhone because I kept leaving the ear buds behind. I thought having a case that kept the ear buds with the iPhone would be a good idea.
PROS: * Keeps ear buds with phone. The cord wraps easily around the back of the case, like with a vacuum cleaner, and the headphone jack and ear buds fit snugly into specially formed holes in the back. * Unlike some silicone cases I've used with other devices, it was very easy to put the iPhone in and take it out. Since Apple recommends removing silicone cases when recharging, this is a nightly activity. * The silicone is thicker around the corners to help protect against bumps.
CONS: * Because of where the switches are, thicker corners means the on/off switch and the silence-ringer switch are a bit too recessed for easy use. * When ear buds are stowed in the case, they create a couple of lumps at the back of the case. Setting the phone down on any flat surface, like a desk or meeting table, leaves it tilting wildly. It will even rock - and in this context, that is not a good thing. * Headphone management adds more bulk than expected, since the ear buds stick out, which makes it hard to fit into a pocket.
All in all, it does what I wanted it to do and solves the problem that I wanted to solve. But in doing so, it introduced more problems, so it's going back.

Great case Oct 26, 2007
By Chris Roberts I really like this case. This is the first case I've bought for my iPhone and the only reason I bought it is for the headphone storage. But the rubbery material is nice to make it easier to hold my phone. The headphone storage is great. It does add to the width, but shouldn't that be expected? I still have no problem comfortably keeping it in my pocket. Most buttons are easy to access though the silence switch is a little more trouble. As others mention it won't fit in the dock with the case (is there any case that would fit in the dock? The iPhone fits in so snugly, I doubt it.) This isn't a problem for me, I just plug the phone in without the dock. Some might want to use the dock to stand up the phone so this issue might be an annoyance.

Good idea... Oct 28, 2007
By TheCommish16 The iphone is a pretty darn expensive cell phone, and it requires more than the usual protective case in my opinion. This "jam jacket" provides a cushioned shell for the iphone, and is made of pretty strong rubber material. It protects the phone from making contact with the ground if you drop it. The corners are especially strong.
Is this fool proof? No, but I'd MUCH rather have this case on my iphone if I dropped it.

I wouldn't recommend this case Dec 01, 2007

Bought 2 weeks ago and used it for about 3 days. The silence switch is unreachable unless you pull the sleeve off. Doesn't look very elegant and is def. not
The other huge issue is that the sleeve didn't fit properly. the sides kept pulling to the back leaving a gap and letting corners of the protective screen show. The protective screen kept coming off of the phone. Now this could be due to poor installation from my part, how would I know, it didn't come with and instructions.
Also the Sound quality is poor after applying this sleeve. I could not hear friends speak on the other line although they said they heard me fine.
Wouldn't buy it again. I'll probably sell it on Ebay!

Cool case, love the cable management Feb 08, 2011
By David L. Reynolds I have an old 1G iPhone and I've been looking around for a few years for a good case. This case is great! It's very modern looking and provides moderate protection for your device. The coolest part is the cable managment. I always have my earbuds with me, as I use my iPhone as my primary iPod as well. When I'm done listening to music it's nice to have a convenient compact place to store my earbuds and cables. It's a tad bit bulky, but overall I'm pleased with my new case.
