This is one tasty orange! Jun 15, 2008
By Lowriderob Previous to buying this product I had read a few bad reviews about it. I think that people forgot what it was they were buying when they wrote thier reviews. When comparing apples and oranges, "This is one tasty orange." When comparing it to other MP3 players in it's class, this one has functions and features that anyone looking for a mini MP3 player would be happy to have, without the cost of the other name brand gotta have, do it all MP3's. Digital recording, FM tuner, plus 4GB capacity. And YES, contrary to what others have written, Mine is a full 4GB. It also comes with an USB extention cable for your convenience.

Kanguru MP3 Player Jul 13, 2008

I have very much enjoyed using this MP3 player. I have used it for some six months now and I have been very happy with it. Key features: good sound quality, FM tuner, works with MP3 or WMA files, uses regular AAA batteries (rechargeable batteries work well), 4GB capacity, no special software needed to transfer files (Windows file explorer or the like is all you need), and it will return to where you left off in a music or audio file after shutting down or switching to the radio (this is a great convenience if, like me, you listen to a lot of books and other audio such as podcasts).

Kanga Sad Feb 28, 2008
By AllAmericanAlienBoy To put this review in perspective - i've owned about a dozen of these 'penknife' style flash drive MP3 players, including a 1G kanguru - and with the sole exception of a supposedly 4G no brand device i bought from HongKong i've been very happy with all of them. This one i'm returning though, - it only plays about 1 in 50 of the songs loaded and then only mp3's no WMA at all. I was going to send it back on an RMA for replacement, but then i noticed the display was still showing tracks i'd deleted prior to my intended return of the unit. This is the same symptom i'd seen with the other 4G unit, which means that the flash memory itself is suspect. (possibly 2G formatted to 4G?) So i'm returning it as defective for refund. Caveat Emptor? Good Luck All!

music listener Mar 07, 2010

Battery life last more than one work day which is awesome. Batteries from raido shack if that makes a difference. Menu is fairly easy to use, not the easiest i've used but easy enough to figure out. I can put music onto it in folders, but i cant skip through the folders. but i am at least happy that i can group my different genres of music together. i love how quickly and easy it to skip through songs with out the lag most other mp3 players have. I did have a problem with deleting files off. I opened the files in "my computer" then "mp3 player" but there was no delete button and right clicking didnt work either, but its probably a problem on my end and not the player itself. Windows vista sucks and i plan on going back to xp.

A good deal for the price Oct 18, 2011
By minimalist I really value this product because, it's the only 4Gb mp3 with built-in radio that uses replaceable batteries. I go all over the place with mine, and usually I don't have access to a USB port to recharge; so it's really convenient for me to just carry spare batteries. I really wish more manufacturers would make products with replaceable batteries.
Besides, all rechargable batteries slowly lose their charging capacity until they become useless, and you end up throwing the product away: not worth trying to replace those expensive rechargables even if you could.
It's not the most robustly constructed product, but what can you expect for the price. The rubberized finish is already peeling off in places. The on/off button doesn't always respond right away; sometimes you have to hold it down longer. The ergonomics is really bad. The menu setup has way too many features and menu-levels; as is always the case with cheaply designed products.
The button lock doesn't work very well. I've often found it turned on with the batteries drained; so now I have to take the batteries out each time I store it in my backpack or pocket.
